Image Converter 3.1 software update is indented is offered to the owners of Image Converter 2 and Image Converter 2 plus on CD-ROM.

About this Update

This update provides the following enhancements:

Automatic conversion of recorded TV programs. This feature is only available with VAIO computers with Giga Pocket or VAIO zone software. This feature is not available for Windows XP Media Center Edition/ Windows Vista Media Center computers.
Conversion to high-quality video files for PlayStation Portable (PSP): PSP display resolution (480 x 270 lines) and Standard Definition resolution (720 x 480 lines).
Conversion of video files shot with HDV cameras.
Support for WALKMAN A800 series. This update does however not apply to Image Converter provided with the A800 series WALKMAN.
Support for video RSS channels (podcasting).
Automatic transfer of videos to a Memory Stick. TV programs and RSS videos recorded on a computer can be automatically transferred to a Memory Stick inserted in your computer (directly or via adapter) or in your portable Playstation (PSP).
Conversion to MPEG-4, MPEG-4 AVC Main Profile, MPEG-4 AVC Baseline profile (depending on the device used).
Windows Vista Support.

This update cannot be installed to update from Image Converter 1.5. This update can only be installed to update from the CD-ROM version Image Converter 2 or Image Converter 2 plus.

Video files:
- Input:
  - avi (non Windows supported files may not be converted).
  - MPEG-1.
  - MPEG-2 (DVD cannot be converted).
  - MPEG-4 (only files recorded in Memory Stick video format are guaranteed to be compatible).
  - QuickTime format/ M4V files (latest version of QuickTime Player must be installed on your computer).
  - WMV.
  - DVR-MS (with Windows XP Media Center Edition or Vista).
  - TV programs recorded with Giga Pocket 5.0 or later or VAIO Zone (only available on some VAIO computers).
  Note: copyright protected formats cannot be converted. All avi videos are not guaranteed to be compatible.

Download and installation procedure:

Download the update file (Inst_IC30100CDUPD.exe) onto your Desktop by accepting the disclaimer below.
After the download is completed, double-click Inst_IC30100CDUPD.exe to start the installation.
When prompted, insert your Image Converter 2 or Image Converter 2 Plus CD-ROM in your CD or DVD drive and click "Retry". Do not remove the Image Converter 2 or Image Converter 2 Plus CD-ROM from your computer during the whole update process.
Note: Previous versions of Image Converter (Version 2, Version 2 Plus, and Version 3) will be automatically uninstalled during the update procedure. After uninstallation, double-click Inst_IC30100CDUPD.exe to proceed with the update.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update. After the update is finished you can remove the Image Converter 2 or Image Converter 2 Plus CD-ROM from your computer.

Sony does not accept any responsibility for loss of data or damage caused by the installation or use of any of the downloaded Utilities, or give any other warranty, or accept any liability whatsoever with respect to Utilities. Sony recommends that Users (and Users warrant that they shall) always create and retain a copy of all data in hardware (with or in which Utilities will be installed or used) before installing or using any Utilities.
Sony and Sony Affiliates do not (except as specifically stated in an applicable EULA, if at all) offer support or assistance in using, installing or maintaining any Utilities, or resolving issues or problems that may occur as a result of using or installing Utilities.

You acknowledge that the Utilities, and any accompanying documentation and/or technical information, may be subject to applicable export control laws and regulations. You agree not to export or re-export the Utilities, directly or indirectly, in breach of any such laws or regulations.
Where Sony agrees (in writing) to provide technical support in relation to a Sony product, it shall only provide that support on the relevant Sony products with operating systems and other software in the same form and version as shipped from the Sony or Sony Affiliate factory, and may elect not to provide support on Sony products on which Utilities have been subsequently incorporated or loaded.

Applicable EULA's may impose additional warranty and liability exclusions or limitations on Utilities.

The downloading of any Utility constitutes acceptance of these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not download any Utility or accompanying online documentation.
